I thought for a moment Bill and Laura really were going to take a moment for themselves and enjoy themselves. The idea that she might have crawled in his rack is amusing. The idea that Bill would apologize for going back to sleep after a beautiful crawled in his rack is highly amusing and classically Bill. Just wait until he experiences the next 6 days without sleep, he will be dreaming on his feet and wishing he took the 10 minutes to celebrate with Laura. What a fun little Interlude.
